GEORGIA — Law enforcement officials are searching for a person of interest connected to a fatal hit-and-run crash in Chatham County earlier this month.
According to the Georgia Department of Public Safety, the crash involving a 2015 Dodge Journey and a motorcycle happened May 10 on Chevis Road at the intersection of Newington Road and Beaufort Road.
Officials said the driver and front-seat passenger of the Dodge fled the scene on foot after the crash.
Authorities released a photo Sunday morning of a person of interest they are trying to identify. Investigators said the individual may have connections to Chatham County, as well as the Beaufort, Hardeeville and Hilton Head areas.
