VIRGINIA — A Smithfield man was killed Friday morning after being struck by a vehicle in Isle of Wight County, according to Virginia State Police.
The crash happened around 7:25 a.m. at the intersection of Benns Church Boulevard and Brewers Neck Boulevard.
Investigators said 45-year-old Dashawn Jefferson was crossing Brewers Neck Boulevard onto Benns Church Boulevard when he was struck by a 1995 Dodge Ram 3500 traveling eastbound through the intersection.
Jefferson died at the scene, state police said.
Authorities have not released information about the driver of the truck or whether any charges are expected.
The investigation remains ongoing.
