MARYLAND — A man was killed Friday morning in a crash involving a tractor-trailer on Interstate 270 in Montgomery County, according to officials.
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service said crews responded around 7:40 a.m. to the northbound I-270 express lanes between Route 28 and Shady Grove Road in Rockville after reports of a crash.
Authorities said the collision involved a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle.
Emergency crews found a man trapped inside the passenger vehicle and had to extricate him from the wreckage. Officials said he later died from his injuries.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was evaluated at the scene and declined transportation to a hospital.
Maryland State Police closed lanes on the northbound express lanes as crews worked at the scene and investigated the crash.
The incident remains under investigation.
