
ALABAMA — A construction worker was killed after a pickup truck struck a cable wire he was working on in Marshall County, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
ALEA said the incident happened on Feemster Gap Road. Authorities identified the worker as 22-year-old Albert Perezibarra of Georgia.
Investigators said Perezibarra was working from an elevated bucket truck on a cable wire when a pickup truck hit the wire in the roadway.
According to ALEA, Perezibarra was holding the wire when it was struck, causing him to be pulled from the elevated work bucket.
He suffered critical injuries and was taken to Marshall Medical North Hospital for treatment. Authorities said he later died from his injuries.
ALEA said the incident remains under investigation.
