FLORIDA — A 20-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with a deadly hit-and-run crash in Orange County, Florida, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said Julia Blackwell, of Christmas, Florida, was booked into the Orange County Jail on Wednesday on a charge of leaving the scene of a crash involving death.
The crash happened around 5:10 a.m. Saturday near the intersection of State Road 520 and State Road 50 in a wooded area of Orange County.
According to investigators, Blackwell struck a pedestrian “for an unknown reason” before fleeing the scene on foot.
The victim, identified as a 56-year-old man from Christmas, Florida, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Florida Highway Patrol said the investigation remains ongoing.
