
SOUTH CAROLINA — Two men are facing multiple drug charges after North Charleston police recovered more than 100 grams of narcotics during a search warrant operation at a motel Monday, authorities said.
According to police, officers executed a search warrant at the Siesta Motor Lodge on Rivers Avenue.
Authorities said 31-year-old Kenneth William Rouse of North Charleston was charged with trafficking cocaine, possession with intent to distribute cocaine base, trafficking fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, manufacturing cocaine base and possession of Schedule II narcotics.
Michael Germaine Scott Jr., 29, of Summerville, was charged with trafficking cocaine base and manufacturing cocaine base, police said.
Investigators reported recovering 30 grams of cocaine, 63 grams of cocaine base, 29 grams of fentanyl and 14 doses of narcotics during the search. Authorities estimated the street value of the seized drugs at nearly $10,000.
Police said Scott attempted to flee the motel room after noticing officers approaching but later surrendered outside the building.
Both men were booked into the Al Cannon Detention Center.
