
OHIO — An investigation is underway after an inmate died at the Maple Heights Jail in Ohio, according to authorities.
46-year-old Christopher Ranallo was found unresponsive inside the jail during the early morning hours of May 17.
Officials said Ranallo could not be resuscitated.
According to a news release, Ranallo had been taken into custody on May 15 after he was involved in a traffic crash in Maple Heights. Police said he had outstanding warrants at the time of his arrest.
Authorities said Ranallo was first evaluated for injuries at a nearby hospital before he was transported to the Maple Heights Jail.
The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is leading the investigation into the inmate’s death.
