
VIRGINIA — A 19-year-old man was killed in a head-on crash Sunday night in Amherst County, according to Virginia State Police.
The two-vehicle crash happened around 8 p.m. on Winesap Road.
Investigators said a 2017 GMC Sierra traveling westbound crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a 2008 Ford F-150.
Authorities identified the victim as 19-year-old Tristan Fluharty, a passenger in the GMC Sierra. He was transported to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Police said the driver of the Sierra, identified as 19-year-old River McDowell, and a juvenile passenger were also taken to a hospital for treatment.
The driver of the Ford, identified as 21-year-old George Jarvie, was hospitalized with injuries as well.
Virginia State Police said charges are pending as the investigation continues.
