MICHIGAN — Two people were killed and another person was critically injured in a single-vehicle crash early Sunday morning on U.S. 127 in Ingham County, according to sheriff’s deputies.
The crash happened around 3 a.m. Sunday on northbound U.S. 127 near the Interstate 96 interchange.
Authorities said a vehicle driven by a 28-year-old Lansing man left the roadway for unknown reasons. Two passengers, both 39-year-old men from Holt, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver was transported to a local hospital in critical condition, police said.
Northbound and southbound lanes of U.S. 127 were temporarily shut down while deputies investigated the crash, but the roadway has since reopened.
Investigators said speed and alcohol are being considered possible factors in the crash.
The incident remains under investigation by the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office.
