
MICHIGAN — More than 2,100 customers across Michigan are without electricity Friday morning, with the largest concentration of outages reported in western parts of the state, according to PowerOutage.com.
As of Friday morning, 2,171 homes and businesses are currently without power statewide out of more than 5.07 million tracked customers. Michigan ranks eighth in the nation for the number of outages and 11th for the percentage of customers affected.
The largest outage is reported in Kent County, where 1,679 customers are without electricity. Allegan County is reporting 202 outages, while Jackson County has 76 customers without service. Additional outages are also being reported in Muskegon County, Houghton County and Oakland County.
Among utility providers, Consumers Energy is reporting the vast majority of outages with 2,058 affected customers. DTE Energy is reporting 48 outages statewide.
Consumers Energy also has the highest outage percentage among tracked Michigan utilities, with about 0.1% of customers affected Friday morning.
Utility crews continue restoration efforts across Michigan as outages remain active Friday morning.
