
PENNSYLVANIA — Human remains found in a wooded area in Hanover Borough have been identified as a York County man who had been missing since last year, according to the York County Coroner’s Office.
Authorities said the remains belonged to 39-year-old Mark Hicks of Thomasville.
Hanover Borough police were called around 7:23 a.m. April 16 to a wooded area near the 400 block of East Middle Street after remains were discovered.
Investigators later used dental records to confirm the identity of the remains as Hicks, who had been reported missing since June 2025.
According to the coroner’s office, Hicks died from asphyxiation and his death was ruled a suicide.
Officials said Hicks’ family has been notified.
