
FLORIDA — A fatal crash shut down all southbound lanes of Interstate 75 near Fletcher Avenue in Tampa for several hours early Thursday before the roadway reopened, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash happened around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday near mile marker 267 in Hillsborough County, FHP said.
Authorities closed all southbound lanes while crews investigated the crash and worked to clear the scene. Drivers were urged to seek alternate routes during the closure.
FHP said the roadway reopened Thursday morning after the scene was cleared.
Few details about the crash were immediately available, and investigators have not said how the collision occurred. Information about the number of vehicles involved or the identity of the person killed has not yet been released.
