TEXAS — A motorcyclist was killed Tuesday night after crashing into a wall at the HOV lane entrance on North Central Expressway and then being struck by a car, according to Dallas police.
Police said the crash happened around 9:15 p.m. in the southbound lanes near the Midpark Road bridge.
Investigators determined the motorcyclist was traveling southbound when he struck the wall at the HOV lane entrance, causing him to lose control and crash within the single-lane entry area.
Authorities said a car traveling behind the motorcycle then struck both the rider and the bike.
Paramedics pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene. The driver of the car was not injured.
All southbound and HOV lanes on Central Expressway were shut down for more than four hours while police investigated the crash. The roadway has since reopened.
The identity of the motorcyclist has not yet been released pending notification of family members. The investigation remains ongoing.
