OHIO — A fugitive wanted by the Warren County Sheriff’s Office since 2024 was arrested Tuesday after allegedly attempting to steal items from a Walmart in Fairfield Township, according to police.

Fairfield Township police said officers responded last Thursday to a reported theft in progress at a Walmart store. When officers attempted to contact the suspect, he allegedly ran through the store, entered an employee-only area and fled out a back door into a wooded area.

Police later identified the suspect as Shaun Walls, who authorities said was wanted in Warren County on multiple charges, including drug trafficking and carrying a concealed weapon.

The Fairfield Township Police Department contacted the U.S. Marshals Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team for assistance in locating Walls. Authorities said he was taken into custody Tuesday in Hamilton by U.S. Marshals.

In addition to the existing felony charges out of Warren County, Walls was charged by Fairfield Township police with theft, obstructing official business, criminal damaging and criminal trespass.

The investigation remains ongoing.
