TEXAS — One person is dead following a crash involving an 18-wheeler Tuesday afternoon in Alvarado, according to police.
The crash happened around 12:30 p.m. on the southbound side of Interstate 35W near County Road 604.
Authorities said the crash involved an 18-wheeler and a sedan, but investigators have not yet released details about what led to the collision.
Alvarado Police Department said one person died as a result of the crash. The victim’s identity has not been released.
Southbound lanes of I-35W were temporarily shut down Tuesday afternoon while officers investigated the scene and crews worked to clear the roadway.
Police said the investigation remains ongoing.
