OHIO — A man wanted in connection with a homicide investigation in Mississippi was arrested Tuesday in Toledo by the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.
Authorities said Kenneth Edmond, 44, was taken into custody May 12 in the 2300 block of Parkwood. Edmond was wanted on a homicide charge filed April 29 in connection with the death of 26-year-old Wayne Lawrence in Mississippi.
Investigators said the homicide investigation led authorities to Toledo, where task force officers were able to locate and arrest Edmond without incident.
During the operation, officials also arrested two other individuals wanted on local warrants. Authorities identified them as Laundle Minor, 43, who was wanted by the Defiance County Sheriff’s Office on drug charges, and Charles Pinson-Scott, 45, who was wanted by Toledo police for obstructing court orders.
“This case shows the importance of our mission and the dedication of our officers to keep our communities safe by tracking dangerous, violent felons across the country and bringing them to justice,” U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott said in a statement. “We hope this arrest brings closure to the victims in Mississippi.”
