OHIO — A Canton woman turned a lucky hunch into a $150,000 payday after matching all five numbers on three separate Pick 5 tickets in the Ohio Lottery’s May 3 midday drawing.
The winning numbers drawn were 4-5-6-6-1. The woman had selected the exact same combination on all three $1 straight-bet tickets, with each ticket winning $50,000 for a combined total of $150,000.
According to the Ohio Lottery, the odds of matching all five Pick 5 numbers in exact order are 1 in 100,000.
After state and federal taxes totaling 26.75%, the winner will take home $109,875. She said she plans to use part of the money as a down payment on a house and invest the remaining winnings.
The winning tickets were purchased at Mini Mart, located at 3778 West 117th Street in Cleveland.
Pick 5 drawings are held daily at 12:29 p.m. and 7:29 p.m. Saturday evening drawings are featured during the Cash Explosion television show, which airs from 7:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The Ohio Lottery says it has contributed more than $34 billion to education since 1974.
