IOWA — A man died Tuesday morning after a single-vehicle crash on an exit ramp off Interstate 235 in Des Moines, according to police.
Des Moines police and firefighters responded shortly before 7 a.m. Tuesday to reports of a crash on the east University Avenue exit ramp from I-235.
Authorities said a Chevrolet Colorado crashed into a concrete bridge support on the exit ramp.
The driver, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials said he was the only person inside the vehicle.
The crash closed the exit ramp Tuesday morning as investigators worked at the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Des Moines Police Department.
