
VIRGINIA — An 82-year-old Alabama man died Monday morning in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 81 in Rockbridge County, according to Virginia State Police.
The crash happened around 7 a.m. in the southbound lanes of I-81 near the 198.6 mile marker.
State police said Foster Lee Ware II, of Montgomery, Alabama, was driving a Lexus RX-450 when he lost control of the vehicle. The SUV ran off the right side of the interstate and struck several trees.
Ware died at the scene, authorities said.
The crash remains under investigation by Virginia State Police.
