Part of I-20 in Georgia shut down following vehicle crash

GEORGIA — A crash has shut down the entrance ramp from Washington Road to Interstate 20 eastbound in Augusta on Tuesday morning, according to authorities.

Richmond County deputies responded to the single-vehicle crash on I-20 eastbound. Investigators said the vehicle left the roadway, went through a guardrail and came to a stop off the roadway.

As of 8:51 a.m., the entrance ramp from Washington Road to I-20 eastbound remains closed while deputies investigate the crash scene.

The driver was taken to a local hospital for treatment, according to the sheriff’s office. No additional information about the driver’s condition was released.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternate routes until the scene is cleared.
