
MICHIGAN — One person was killed and another hospitalized after a shooting late Saturday night at a home in Romulus, according to police.
The shooting happened around 11 p.m. in the 15000 block of Mesa Way, the Romulus Police Department said.
Officers arriving at the scene found a 51-year-old Detroit man and a 47-year-old Romulus woman suffering from gunshot wounds.
Police said the man was not breathing when officers arrived. Life-saving measures were attempted, but he died from his injuries.
The woman was treated for at least one gunshot wound and taken to a hospital, where she remains in serious condition.
Investigators said the man had been visiting his sister and her boyfriend at the home when a dispute escalated and shots were fired.
A 29-year-old Detroit man, identified as the woman’s boyfriend, was taken into custody at the scene. Police also recovered weapons from the home.
The investigation remains ongoing.
