
TENNESSEE — A man is in critical condition after a stabbing early Sunday morning in South Memphis, according to the Memphis Police Department.
Police said officers responded to a wounding call just after 5:30 a.m. in the 1400 block of Leland Street near Kerr Avenue.
When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from stab wounds. He was transported to a hospital in critical condition, authorities said.
Investigators said a second person was also taken to the hospital with non-critical injuries.
According to police, the two individuals were involved in a physical altercation before the stabbing occurred.
Memphis police said one person has been detained in connection with the incident. The investigation remains ongoing.
