
NORTH CAROLINA — Two people were killed and two others were injured in two separate shootings overnight in Charlotte, according to Medic and the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
The first shooting happened just before 4 a.m. in the 4900 block of Rozzelles Ferry Road in west Charlotte. Officers responding to a reported assault with a deadly weapon found two men suffering from gunshot wounds.
One victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died, police said.
CMPD closed Rozzelles Ferry Road in both directions while investigators processed the scene.
Around the same time, Medic responded to another shooting near the 5300 block of Old Pineville Road in south Charlotte.
Officials said two people were taken to a local hospital from that shooting. One victim suffered life-threatening injuries, while the other had serious injuries.
Police have not released the identities of the victims or any information about possible suspects.
