OKLAHOMA — A Newkirk woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash Thursday night in Kay County, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the crash happened around 8:38 p.m. at the intersection of North Waverly Street and West Earth Road near Newkirk.

According to investigators, 47-year-old Eugenia Ladawn Sester was driving westbound on West Earth Road and approaching the uncontrolled intersection when another vehicle traveling southbound on North Waverly Street entered the intersection.

Authorities said the two vehicles collided in the intersection before both vehicles left the roadway. Troopers said the second vehicle rolled about a quarter turn before coming to rest on the driver’s side.

Sester was pronounced dead at the scene, OHP said.

The other driver, a 34-year-old man, was not injured.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
