SOUTH CAROLINA — Deputies are investigating a reported shooting Thursday night at a Publix grocery store in the Cane Bay area of Berkeley County, authorities said.
According to the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the Publix located at 1724 State Road after reports of a shooting at the store.
Officials said the number and severity of injuries were not immediately known Thursday night.
Law enforcement officers remained at the scene as deputies secured the area and gathered evidence as part of the investigation. Authorities urged residents and motorists to avoid the area and use alternate routes.
