MICHIGAN — A Hudsonville man died Thursday afternoon after he was struck by a vehicle while crossing the street to a mailbox in Georgetown Township, authorities said.
The crash happened just before 3 p.m. on VanBuren Street near 22nd Avenue, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators said an 82-year-old man was crossing the roadway when he was hit by a Jeep Wrangler driven by a 16-year-old.
First responders attempted life-saving measures at the scene, but the man died from his injuries.
The teen driver and a 14-year-old passenger in the vehicle were not injured.
Deputies continue to investigate the crash.
