
NORTH CAROLINA — A traffic stop in Polk County, North Carolina, ended in a crash after a driver fled from deputies Wednesday afternoon, according to authorities.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office said deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop around 1:30 p.m. on Landrum Road. Investigators said the driver refused to stop and led deputies on a pursuit through the City of Landrum, South Carolina.
During the chase, the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a turn, resulting in a crash.
No information about injuries or possible charges has been released.
The North Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
