OKLAHOMA — A food delivery driver was injured in a stabbing Wednesday morning in Edmond, and police are searching for the suspect involved.
According to the Edmond Police Department, the incident happened near North Baumann Avenue and East Wayne Street.
Police said the delivery driver was sitting inside their vehicle when an unknown person approached and asked for water. While the driver was retrieving a bottle of water, the suspect allegedly reached into the vehicle, grabbed a pocketknife from the driver’s side door and stabbed the driver in the leg before fleeing south on foot.
Officers responded to the area and established a perimeter while a K-9 unit searched for the suspect, but no arrests had been made as of Wednesday morning.
Investigators said the driver suffered a superficial injury and was treated at the scene. The victim declined additional treatment at a local hospital and later left the area.
The investigation remains ongoing.
