One person dead following dirt bike crash in Maryland

MARYLAND — A 37-year-old man was killed Tuesday night following a crash involving a dirt bike and an SUV in northwest Baltimore, according to police.

Officers responded around 8:49 p.m. on May 5 to the 3000 block of Liberty Heights Avenue in the Ashburton neighborhood for reports of a crash. When they arrived, they found a collision involving a dirt bike and a sport utility vehicle.

Authorities said the driver of the dirt bike, a 37-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released.

Police reported that the driver of the SUV remained at the scene following the crash.

Officers also confiscated at least two dirt bikes from individuals near the crash site. According to a FOX45 News crew at the scene, one man attempted to flee after abandoning his dirt bike but was later detained by officers.
