MARYLAND — A woman and a child were seriously injured Tuesday afternoon after being struck by a vehicle in Montgomery Village, according to Montgomery County Police.
The crash happened near the intersection of Clubhouse and Centerway roads. Investigators said the woman was carrying the child when both were hit by the vehicle.
Police said the driver crashed into a nearby tree after striking the victims. Authorities said the driver remained at the scene following the collision.
Both the woman and the child were taken to a local hospital with serious injuries. Officials said their injuries are not considered life-threatening at this time.
The crash remains under investigation.
