SOUTH CAROLINA — Columbia Police are investigating a shooting that left one person wounded Tuesday afternoon.
Officers responded to the 2000 block of Worthy Drive, where an adult man was found shot multiple times, according to police. The victim was transported for medical treatment. His condition has not been released.
Investigators believe the incident began as a verbal altercation that escalated into gunfire.
Authorities said one individual has been detained in connection with the shooting. No charges have been announced.
Police stated there is no ongoing threat to the public as officers continue to process the scene and gather information.
