KENTUCKY — A Pulaski County man has been arrested and charged with attempted murder following an early morning assault that left two people seriously injured, authorities said.
According to Pulaski County Sheriff Bobby Jones, deputies responded to a report of a physical assault at a residence on Waddle Street in Ferguson at approximately 5:43 a.m. on May 3.
The caller told Pulaski County 911 that Jonathan Gross, 44, had struck him and his girlfriend with a baseball bat. The caller was able to escape during the incident and contact emergency services.
When deputies arrived, they found a woman outside the home suffering from a head injury. She told deputies that Gross had struck her in the head with a baseball bat and that he was inside a bedroom in the residence.
After multiple attempts to get Gross to exit the room, deputies entered the bedroom and took him into custody.
Gross is charged with two counts of attempted murder, disorderly conduct (second degree), two counts of third-degree terroristic threatening, and alcohol intoxication in a public place.
The victims were transported to a hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The investigation remains ongoing.
