
TENNESSEE — A man was shot early Monday morning in the Bethel Grove neighborhood of Memphis, according to police.
The Memphis Police Department said officers responded just after 1 a.m. to a shooting at South Parkway East and Lapaloma Street. When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim was transported to a hospital in critical condition. Authorities later said his condition was downgraded to non-critical and he is expected to survive.
Police said the shooting occurred on Burns Avenue, about 2½ miles south of where the victim was found. No additional details about a suspect or circumstances surrounding the shooting have been released.
The investigation remains ongoing.
