TENNESSEE — A man was arrested after deputies say he crashed a stolen truck while attempting to flee from authorities.
According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, 30-year-old Lawrence “Alex” Givens is accused of stealing a truck and wrecking it during an attempt to evade deputies.
Authorities said Givens later went to a home on Hairetown Road and asked the homeowners for help.
Deputies located Givens shortly after 10 p.m. and took him into custody without incident.
Givens is charged with theft of property, felony evading arrest and reckless endangerment. Officials said he also faces multiple traffic-related charges.
He was transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where he is being held without bond. Givens is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
