ALABAMA — Two people have been arrested on drug trafficking charges following a narcotics investigation in Monroe County, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Tom Boatwright said complaints from community members prompted deputies to execute a search warrant in the Frisco City area. The operation was carried out by deputies assigned to the Alabama Drug Enforcement Task Force as part of an ongoing effort to combat illegal drug activity in the county.
During the search, deputies allegedly found Jeffery Williams and Nicole Jost in possession of trafficking amounts of methamphetamine and cocaine packaged in a manner consistent with distribution.
Both suspects were arrested and charged with drug-related offenses, including trafficking in methamphetamine and possession with intent to distribute cocaine. Authorities said additional charges could be filed as the investigation continues.
“The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to responding to the concerns of our citizens and protecting our communities from the dangers of illegal narcotics,” Boatwright said in a statement.
The investigation remains ongoing.
