
NORTH CAROLINA — Authorities in Forsyth County are investigating a homicide after a 16-year-old boy and his pet dog were found shot to death early Saturday morning.
According to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called around 5:55 a.m. to a home in the 4700 block of New Walkertown Road to assist emergency medical services. When they arrived, they found the teenager and his dog suffering from gunshot wounds.
Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
The Sheriff’s Office Investigative Services Division has taken over the case. Officials said the investigation remains active and ongoing, and no suspects or arrests have been announced.
Sheriff Bobby F. Kimbrough Jr. described the incident as deeply troubling in a statement, saying the killing of a child and his pet raises serious concerns about community safety.
