
NORTH CAROLINA — One person is dead after a shooting early Sunday, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
Police said the victim was shot sometime on May 3, though investigators have not yet determined where the shooting occurred. The injured person was transported to a hospital in the University City area, where officers responded after the victim arrived with a gunshot wound.
Authorities said the victim died at the hospital shortly after being dropped off. The person’s identity has not been released.
The case is being investigated as a homicide. As of Sunday afternoon, no additional details had been provided.
