One person dead following hit-and-run incident in Tennessee

TENNESSEE — A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash early Saturday morning in Hendersonville, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

Officials said the incident occurred around 1:15 a.m. on May 2 at mile marker 4 on the eastbound side of Highway 386, also known as Vietnam Veterans Boulevard. Preliminary information indicates that a vehicle struck the pedestrian and fled the scene.

Investigators recovered a passenger-side door mirror at the crash site, which authorities say is consistent with certain Ford truck models. The vehicle involved is believed to be a 2017 to 2022 Ford F-250, a 2017 to 2022 Ford F-350, or a 2021 to 2025 Ford F-150.

The identity of the pedestrian has not been released.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is asking for the public’s assistance in locating the driver and vehicle involved. Anyone who witnessed the crash or has information is urged to contact the THP Emergency Dispatch Communications Center at 615-986-4986, press 0, and ask for Trooper Noble Phillips with the Criminal Investigations Division.

The investigation remains ongoing.
