TENNESSEE — Police are searching for a group of burglars who crashed a vehicle into a local gun range and stole multiple firearms early Saturday morning.
According to the Murfreesboro Police Department, the incident happened around 3:40 a.m. at Black Frog Arms and Range on North Thompson Lane. Authorities said a Kia Soul drove into the front doors of the business, allowing several suspects to enter the building.
Investigators said the individuals, who were dressed in white Tyvek coveralls, exited the vehicle, took an unspecified number of firearms, and quickly fled the scene. Detectives believe the group left the area in a dark-colored Kia Optima.
When officers arrived, the Kia used in the crash was found inside the building. Police also reported locating what appeared to be a rocket-propelled grenade outside the business. The Tennessee Highway Patrol bomb squad later determined the item was a replica.
Officials are reviewing surveillance footage and license plate reader data from the surrounding area as part of the ongoing investigation.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Murfreesboro Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division Property Crimes Unit at 615-893-2717.
The investigation remains ongoing.
