
ILLINOIS — One man was killed and another injured in an overnight shooting on the South Side of Chicago, police said.
According to the Chicago Police Department, the shooting occurred just before 1:30 a.m. Saturday in the 100 block of West 43rd Street in the Bronzeville neighborhood.
Investigators said a 58-year-old man and a 26-year-old man were sitting inside a blue hatchback when both were struck by gunfire.
The older man was shot in the neck and transported to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The 26-year-old man suffered a graze wound to the back of his head and was taken to a hospital in good condition.
Police said it remains unclear what led to the shooting. No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact Area One detectives or submit anonymous tips.
