
KENTUCKY — A man was killed in a shooting Friday night in Louisville’s Shawnee neighborhood, and police say a suspect is now in custody.
According to the Louisville Metro Police Department, officers were dispatched around 9:36 p.m. to the 600 block of South 38th Street following reports of a shooting. When officers arrived, they located an adult male inside a residence suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators said preliminary information indicates the victim was shot by a suspect known to him. The suspect fled the scene immediately after the shooting.
Police said the suspect later surrendered to officers and is now in custody.
Authorities have not released the names of those involved, and the motive behind the shooting remains under investigation.
