LOUISIANA — A drug raid at a home in Ville Platte led to the seizure of methamphetamine, cocaine, and other narcotics while three young children were inside, according to authorities.

The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office said deputies executed a search warrant on April 24 at a residence on Leone Street. During the operation, investigators observed 30-year-old Tyrin Frank attempting to flush drugs down a toilet. Deputies detained Frank and recovered a bag containing approximately 13.7 grams of cocaine.

Inside the home, authorities reported finding a 2-year-old boy, a 3-year-old girl, and a 5-month-old girl. The children were later released to their grandmother.

A search of the residence uncovered nearly 200 grams of methamphetamine packaged in multiple bags, along with smaller quantities of the drug, more than $10,000 in cash, and prescription pills identified as oxycodone and acetaminophen. Investigators also reported finding drug paraphernalia in Frank’s vehicle.

Frank was charged with multiple offenses, including possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, cocaine, and oxycodone; transactions involving drug proceeds; illegal drug use in the presence of minors; and felony obstruction of justice. He was booked into the parish jail.

Deputies also detained three individuals in a vehicle at the scene. Authorities said additional drugs, including marijuana, synthetic marijuana, and a liquid mixture containing promethazine, were found during the investigation. Warrants have been issued for two of those individuals.

The investigation remains ongoing.
