
KENTUCKY — The Louisville Zoo was evacuated Friday morning after authorities received a reported bomb threat.
According to officials, the evacuation began around 9:30 a.m. after a “safety threat” was reported at the zoo. Visitors and staff were directed to leave the grounds and were moved to nearby Joe Creason Park as a precaution.
Louisville Metro Police confirmed that the threat involved a bomb threat, and officers responded to the scene to investigate. Law enforcement officials remained on-site as they worked to assess the situation and ensure public safety.
No injuries have been reported in connection with the incident.
Zoo officials announced the evacuation in a social media post, advising visitors of the situation and directing them to the designated safe area.
