Police searching for two missing children in Tennessee

TENNESSEE — The Sevier County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating two missing children from Sevierville.

According to authorities, Aaliyah Moser, 7, and Lucas Moser, 9, were last seen Monday in the area of Old Newport Highway.

Investigators said the children may be traveling in a 2014 gray Nissan Pathfinder with Tennessee license plate BTH9920.

Aaliyah is described as having blonde hair and hazel eyes. She is approximately 4 feet 5 inches tall and weighs about 87 pounds. She was last seen wearing an orange and black tie-dye butterfly shirt, white shoes and black leggings with a pink panda-print stripe.

Lucas is described as having brown hair and brown eyes. He is about 4 feet 8 inches tall and weighs around 105 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue, gray and white T-shirt, blue sweatpants with lightning bolts and black Puma shoes.

Authorities said the situation does not meet the criteria for an abduction and is believed to be related to a custodial matter. Investigators said a parent may have checked the children out of school and left the area, possibly heading out of state.

The sheriff’s office said a parenting plan is in place, but the most current version may not have been provided to the school at the time the children were released. Officials said the parent involved could be in violation of that agreement, and charges of custodial interference are being pursued.

“This remains an active investigation,” the sheriff’s office said. “Our priority is locating the children and ensuring their safety.”

Anyone with information on the children’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office at 865-453-4668 or the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation at 1-800-TBI-FIND.
