GEORGIA — A suspect remains on the run following a deadly shooting at a MARTA station Monday evening, according to authorities.
MARTA police said officers were called to the Oakland City station on Lee Street just after 6 p.m. following reports of gunfire.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man who had been shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released.
Police said the suspect fled the area and has not been located. Authorities have established a perimeter centered around a nearby apartment complex on Oakland Lane as they continue their search.
Investigators have not said what led up to the shooting, and no suspect description has been released.
The investigation remains ongoing.
