GEORGIA — A 57-year-old Snellville man is facing multiple drug trafficking charges after a joint law enforcement operation uncovered large amounts of illegal drugs and firearms in North Georgia, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

Authorities said Michael Anthony Berry was arrested following a multi-agency investigation involving the GBI, Flowery Branch Police Department and the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office.

Agents executed search and arrest warrants across Hall and Gwinnett counties on April 22 as part of an effort to dismantle what officials described as a major drug trafficking network.

According to the GBI, Berry was booked into the Hall County Jail on charges including trafficking cocaine, crack cocaine and methamphetamine, as well as possession of MDMA with intent to distribute.

During the operation, investigators said they seized approximately 3.5 pounds of methamphetamine, 1.4 pounds of cocaine, 1 pound of marijuana and 22 grams of MDMA.

Authorities also recovered 11 firearms, including one that had been reported stolen.

The investigation was conducted by the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office, a multi-agency unit that includes local, state and federal partners across 30 counties in North Georgia.

Officials have not said whether additional arrests are expected or how long the alleged trafficking network had been operating.

Anyone with information about drug activity is encouraged to contact the GBI or submit an anonymous tip.

The investigation remains ongoing.
