OHIO — A fugitive wanted on multiple felony charges, including rape and human trafficking, was arrested Monday morning in Youngstown, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.
Members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) took 37-year-old Randy Reese into custody following an investigation led by the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force.
Authorities said Reese was wanted for several charges, including trafficking in persons, rape, corrupting another with drugs and felonious assault. Investigators said the alleged crimes took place over several years.
A warrant for Reese’s arrest was issued Friday, and task force members began searching for him immediately.
Officials said Reese was located at a home in the 4100 block of Southern Boulevard in Youngstown, where he was arrested without incident and taken to the Mahoning County Jail.
Authorities also noted Reese was already out on bond in a separate case involving charges of felonious assault and strangulation.
“A case like this shows the incredibly dedicated work by members of the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force and then quick work by our task force,” U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott said. “Law enforcement in Northern Ohio will do everything they can to work together to bring suspects like this to justice.”
Anyone with information about a wanted fugitive is encouraged to contact NOVFTF at 1-866-4WANTED or submit a tip online. Officials said tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward.
The investigation remains ongoing.
