OHIO — A 56-year-old Ohio man faces multiple felony charges after Lake County deputies discovered cocaine, a loaded handgun, and evidence of impaired driving during a traffic stop Thursday evening.
Frank Hunter Jr., of Maple Heights, was arrested shortly before 5 p.m. on May 23 in the North Ridge Road area, authorities confirmed.
Deputies initially pulled over Hunter’s vehicle for an undisclosed traffic violation but detected the odor of burnt marijuana, indicating recent use while driving, which is prohibited under state law.
A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered 22 grams of cocaine and a loaded 9mm handgun.
Hunter, prohibited from legally possessing firearms due to prior conditions, was charged with possession of controlled substances, weapons under disability, improperly handling a firearm in a motor vehicle, and carrying a concealed weapon.
He remains held at the Lake County Jail pending further court proceedings.
