The Rapides Area Drug Enforcement Unit (RADE) said Freddie Lee Henton Jr., 50, is facing multiple charges.
Those charges include possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, illegal carry of a firearm with narcotics, possession of a legend drug (promethazine), possession of drug paraphernalia, transactions involving proceeds from drug offenses, two distribution warrants and a parole violation.
Investigators said a search of two locations connected to Henton—one on Rose Marie Street and another on North Street—led to the seizure of 82 grams of crack cocaine, 1.04 pounds of powder cocaine, an AK-47-style pistol, eight ounces of promethazine cough syrup, packaging materials, Pyrex glassware commonly used to manufacture crack cocaine and more than $8,000 in cash.
Authorities said Henton is currently on parole for a prior drug conviction in 2018 and is prohibited from possessing a firearm. He was also issued civil asset forfeiture paperwork for the cash that was seized.
Henton was booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center and remains in custody on the parole violation. Bond has been set at $80,500.
