
NORTH CAROLINA — A man has been arrested and charged following a stabbing near a hotel in Wilmington, North Carolina, according to authorities.
The Wilmington Police Department said officers responded Thursday night to the 200 block of Eastwood Road, where they found a 44-year-old man suffering from multiple stab wounds. The victim was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said 41-year-old Jose Hernandez-Gomez was arrested around 10:17 p.m. on April 24. He is charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.
Investigators said witnesses told officers Hernandez-Gomez was seen walking through the back parking lot of a nearby hotel. Authorities said the alleged assault weapon was found in his possession.
Hernandez-Gomez is being held without bond and has a court appearance scheduled for Friday, April 24, at 2 p.m.
Police said three other suspects were also arrested after witnesses reported they went into a nearby hotel room. The investigation remains ongoing.
